Succumb to the temptation of the most delicious pastries of the 17th

Succumb to the temptation of the most delicious pastries of the 17th

It’s been a cold winter, so it’s time for a little comfort food. That will do nicely as your excuse to indulge in a few tasty pastries from some of the best pâtisseries in Paris. Situated close to the Hotel Doisy Etoile, these gourmet destinations are elegant, creative and use only the finest ingredients. Enjoy!

The Pâtisserie des Rêves, where the Saint-Honoré is honoured

Amidst its kindergarten bright colours and decor, the Pâtisserie des Rêves (Pastry of Dreams) revisits great pâtissier classics such as the Paris-Brest, lemon meringue pie, Mont-Blanc, chocolate eclairs … and these traditional creations are constantly invested with fresh zest by the use of new flavours that will draw you back time after time to indulge yourself anew. But the star of this enchanted place is undoubtedly the Saint-Honoré, a house speciality you will find irresistible! Chef pâtissier Daniel Mercier has succeeded Philippe Conticini, an icon of the profession, while maintaining the quality of the tea room where gourmets are welcomed from Tuesday to Sunday.

The Patisserie Cyril Lignac, hard to resist

Regarded as a much-loved local business, the pâtisserie of Cyril Lignac is an authentic place of neighbourhood life for the people of the area, who like to meet in this lovely shop where they fall under the spell of sweetly mouth-watering creations. Every ingredient used here, from the flour to the butter and chocolate is chosen according to rigorously demanding criteria. Tarte au citron, flan, caramel éclair, collections of macarons, the creation called ‘Equinoxe’ the signature gâteau of the house, which combines vanilla ganache, a heart of salted caramel butter and shortbread with speculoos … all come together in a gourmet symphony orchestrated by Cyril Lignac and Benoît Couvrand, two incredible virtuosos of the sweet art.

The Belles Envies, forget the sugar, not your sweet tooth

“I wish I could indulge, but I have to watch my weight …” You don’t need to sigh while gazing longingly into the window of the Belles Envies pâtisserie… These sweet delights, pastries and chocolates have a low glycemic index (60% lower than a classic pastry), making them accessible to all! This ‘sweetness without sugar’ Parisian bakery is the creation of Alixe Bornon, a diabetic since her 13th birthday, Dr. Jean-Michel Borys, a diabetologist who doesn’t like to deprive his patients of pastries and chocolates, and chef Louis Taine, a pâtissier-chocolatier for 10 years.

Aux Merveilleux de Fred, pastries from the north

Emerging from the mists of the north, Aux Merveilleux de Fred finally opened in Paris, to the delight of gourmets, in a beautiful shop designed in crisp black and white, like the others of the chain. Frédéric Vaucamp, a Le Nôtre alumnus, invites you to discover his ‘Merveilleux’. Made to a traditional Cht’i recipe, it’s a light and crunchy meringue cake hiding a tasty and airy whipped cream and covered with shavings of dark chocolate. You’ll also want to try the ‘Incroyable’, which also has meringue and whipped cream but garnished with shards of speculoos, or the ‘Impensable’, a coffee version. Such is the temptation that you’ll probably wind up trying them all!

The Pâtisserie Hermé on the Champs Elysées, a gourmet haven on the world’s most beautiful avenue

Born from an unprecedented and inspired meeting between Pierre Hermé and L’Occitane, this pâtisserie is a real tribute to creativity in a magical setting. Number 86 Champs Elysées is a temple of glorious self-indulgence where you’re invited to sit on the comfortable banquettes inside or in the open-air on the verdant terrace. Among the best-selling treats are the fabulous macarons and pastries, each revealing a world of flavours, sensations and pleasures. Check out the Ispahan, 2000 Feuilles, Infiniment Vanille or Carrément Chocolat, each of which will make an indelible impression on your tastebuds!
