A bucolic interlude in the parks of Paris

A bucolic interlude in the parks of Paris

With the return of spring and the coming summer season, the City of Light is adorned with flowers and greenery! During your stay in the capital, treat yourself to a moment of calm and relaxation amidst the sightseeing. The Hotel Doisy Etoile has selected for you some of the most beautiful parks and gardens of Paris.

Not far from the hotel; the Parc Monceau

Surrounded by beautiful mansions, the Parc Monceau in the 8th arrondissement was built on the orders of the Duke of Chartres. Over 4 centuries it has established a reputation as one of the most elegant parks in Paris. When you pass its impressive wrought iron gates embellished with gold, you begin a journey rich in surprises. A large pond, spectacular trees and shaded paths create a timeless space punctuated here and there by romantic monuments such as a rotunda and a collection of statues in which Chopin, Musset and Maupassant figure prominently.

The colourful charm of the Jardin du Luxembourg

In the 6th arrondissement, nestled between the Latin Quarter, Montparnasse and Saint-Germain des Prés, the Jardin du Luxembourg spreads its 22 hectares of lawns, orchards and flowerbeds. If you like beautiful flowers, don’t miss a visit to the greenhouses, where an explosion of colours awaits you. In the summer, a bandstand offers an eclectic programme of entertainment. You can also discover the apiary garden dedicated to the conservation of bees … established 1856!

The extraordinary Jardin des Plantes

A haven of greenery and beauty that is unique in France, the Jardin des Plantes has a rose garden and an iris garden. Its 24 hectares in the heart of Paris are home to an incredible variety of plants, exceptional trees and plant species from throughout the entire world. You can also visit the zoo, the oldest in Paris.

The Bois de Boulogne offers a wealth of activities

The 850-hectare Bois de Boulogne is considered one of the green lungs of Paris. Here you will find the Parc de Bagatelle, which is perfect for a romantic stroll, as well as the Jardin d’Acclimatation, an ideal spot for a family outing. The latter reopens in June after a year of developing its new theme park.
